About

Hello there! I am Amanda, an adventurer on a mission to see all that life has to offer right outside my front door. My great grandma taught me one day, when I was mixing flour and water in a giant bowl, that a great loaf of bread is just a few ingredients away. I fell in love with the art of trying new things in that moment, and have been chasing words to describe my passionate appetite for exploring the endless array of flavors that bring color to my life.

I am grateful to have been raised in the open fields of the midwest during a time before technology existed as it does today, and kids preferred to play out doors. As far back as I can remember I played sports, such as softball for the 4-H team, or elementary track and volleyball, but I didn’t become a serious advocate for health and wellness until later while training to join the Navy.

In the Navy I stepped into bootcamp in the best shape of my life, but by the time I got back into my civilian clothes they were already too tight on me. Then free to make my own food choices, I quickly made some smart adjustments on what to eat, and with the best work out facilities available to me, got back into my previous workout regime, with the addition of swimming. I absolutely loved working out and quickly joined the ranks as a Fitness Enhancement Program (FEP) adviser, helping my peers with their nutrition and weight loss goals.

I earned my health coaching certificate in 2017 from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and started Infusions, LLC, shortly after. Meanwhile, I made the decision to work on getting my Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and in 2022 I received a certificate of advanced education in Gut Health from IIN.

I continue to regularly study all facets of health and wellness and currently am pursuing a NASM certification, with the intention to become a personal trainer soon. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, writing about health and wellness, being a fad diet guinea pig, and an advocate for mental health and wellness.

Today, I encourage you to be intentional in seeing the joy around you at arms length, and right outside your front door. I am heading out on an adventure now, with my one eyed pug, Onyx, at the helm, why don’t you join me!
